'Paedophile' dance teacher is accused of sexually abusing four teenage students and another young girl over six years

A dance instructor has been accused of sexually abusing four of his teenage students and another young girl over six years.
The 27-year-old teacher was arrested in Nelson Bay, a coastal resort town in the Hunter region of NSW, about 8.30am on Wednesday.
He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, north of Newcastle, and charged with 12 sex crimes, including three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Police will allege he sexually abused four of his young students and one girl over a six-year period from 2013 to 2019.
Other charges include three counts of indecent assault of a person under 16, aggravated sexual assault of a person under 16, and having sex with a person under his care aged 17 to 18.
The teacher was also charged with the ACT crime of sexual intercourse reckless as to consent.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Thursday.
