Veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi has become the latest victim of online payment scam.

On Thursday, the senior actress took to her official social media to reveal that she has been cheated and also warned her followers from getting conned.

The veteran actress ordered alcohol online, however, she wrote in a tweet that despite paying the amount upfront, the ordered item was not delivered.

She added that they have now stopped picking her calls.

Divulging details on how she placed the order, Shabana Azmi tweeted, "BEWARE I have been cheated by them. Living Liquidz I paid upfront and when the ordered item didnt turn up they stopped picking up my calls."

"I paid Account no.919171984427 IFSC- PYTM0123456 Name living liquidz Paytm payment bank (sic)," she added.

Minutes after she shared her ordeal, Twitter users informed the actress in the comment section that most of the phone numbers displayed on Google for alcohol delivery are fake.

Some of them even advised her to register a complaint with the police.

Several users also related to her misery by sharing their experience of being cheated online.

"There is fake number/guys in name of Living Liquidiz, I personally know 3 cases of cheating by same number one of which 42K was lost (sic)," a user commented.

"Its been happening from last lockdown.....dont know why @MumbaiPolice hasnt done much about it (sic)," wrote another user.

Meanwhile, Shabana Azmi has been quite active since the pandemic brought life to a halt last year, moving from relief and rehabilitation to dissemination of correct information and an appeal to get the jab.

Last year, during the lockdown, she donated to the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) and distributed 4000-plus meals in slums.
