Indore: The city is witnessing moderate rainfall for the last two days even after a break in the monsoon, thanks to the western disturbance over north Pakistan. City recorded about one inches rainfall in eastern part of the city on Wednesday night but no rain was recorded in the western part.
The difference in rainfall in eastern and western part of the city is increasing as the Regional Meteorological department office at airport has recorded about 1.75 inches rainfall while the monitoring office of Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board has recorded about 7 inches rainfall till Wednesday evening.
Similarly, a huge difference in rainfall recorded at the monitoring centre at Agriculture College is also seen as about 10 inches rainfall is recorded at the centre till June 23. However, they have recorded the rainfall since April 1, while other two centers have recorded the same from June 1.
Meanwhile, officials have forecasted rainfall in the city on Friday as well. “There are chances of rainfall across the state except Gwalior and Chambal region. There is cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand to North Gujarat across north Chhattisgarh and South Madhya Pradesh due to which the state would receive light to moderate rainfall for the next couple of days,” meteorological department officials added.
