Stalin on Thursday made five announcements, including setting up of
post-Covid clinics in all government medical college hospitals in the state. Industries will be established in Cheyyar and in Tindivanam to provide
jobs to people.
Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address to the assembly, the chief minister said several people, who recovered from Covid infection, had been reporting certain complications. “Post-Covid clinics will be set up in all government college hospitals, and the clinics will be run with necessary specialists,” he said.
Former health minister C Vijayabaskar on Wednesday urged the government to set up post-Covid wards in all government hospitals given the reports of complications.
The chief minister said that he strongly believed in employment for youngsters being the foundation for the state’s growth. On that basis, the
DMK had announced setting up of massive industries in the economically backward districts in the north.
Initially, two industries will come up in Cheyyar to provide jobs to 12,000 people and another in Tindivanam for 10,000 people.
The chief minister also announced withdrawal of cases filed by the previous AIADMK regime against media houses, protesters of three farm laws,
Citizenship Amendment Act, methane, neutrino and Kudankulam nuclear power plants and Chennai-Salem Greenfield Expressway.
“Former chief minister M Karunanddhi had built 240 samathuvapurams (equality villages) after Periyar, who strove for equality. Those samathuvapurams have not been appropriately maintained. They will be renovated and new samathuvapurams will also be built in Tamil Nadu,” Stalin said.
The DMK manifesto had talked about renovation of temples at Rs 1,000 crore. The government would allocate Rs 100 crore towards renovation of 100 temples, temple tanks and the temple cars to conduct festivals.
