BHOPAL: Effect of World Bank Project and RUSA (Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan) could now be seen in the form of new college buildings across the state. About two dozen new college buildings are ready to be handed over in the next two months.
According to officials of the department of higher education, as many as nine new college buildings are ready to be handed over to the department. Moreover construction of buildings of seven colleges will be completed in the month of July and will be ready to be handed over to the department.
Seven other college buildings are under their final stage of construction and expected to be handed over to the higher education department in the month of August. Besides, as many college buildings are under construction and their progress report would be reviewed next week.
New government colleges are coming up in Dewas, Chhindwara, Chhatarpur, Morena, Singrauli, Rewa, Alirajpur, Mandsaur and Shajapur districts. This includes three new Law Colleges in Dewas, Morena and Shajapur.
Additional construction work is also being carried out in 19 colleges in various districts under RUSA project. The progress of these works will also be reviewed in the meeting next week to be attended by senior officials of PWD (Public Works Department) and higher education department.
Nevertheless, sources from the department also indicated that handing over of the college buildings by the PIU officials might take some more time as progress of constructions have been delayed due to rains.
