Reliance Industries AGM 2021: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries conducted its 44th annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday, June 23. The annual general meeting of oil-to-telecom conglomerate RIL - was conducted through a video webcast for the second time in a row amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Reliance Industries announced a slew of plans for the company's future, including the introduction of the Saudi Aramco Chairman Yasir Al Rumayyan on the board of Reliance Industries, who will join as an independent director. Mukesh Ambani also announced that Reliance Jio and Google partnered to jointly develop an affordable smartphone – JioPhone Next, which supports the entire suite of applications from both Google and Jio, in a bid to provide easy access of information to people through the digital medium. JioPhone Next will be available in the market from September 10.
Mr Ambani also announced that Reliance will invest Rs 60,000 crore over the next three years on the clean energy business and will set up four giga factories in Jamnagar, Gujarat, aiming to contribute 100 giga watt of solar energy by 2030. Reliance's new energy business will be valued at Rs 75,000 crore within the next three years, according to the Chairman.

Shares of Reliance Industries settled 2.35 per cent lower at Rs 2,153.35 apiece on the BSE, after the conclusion of the 44th annual general meeting 2021.

The work on developing the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex on 5,000 acres in Jamnagar has started. It will be amongst the largest such integrated renewable energy manufacturing facilities in the world, said Mukesh Ambani
