A clever dishwasher hack that leaves clean plastic containers dry in minutes has been put to the test - and it actually works.
Mum-of-two Carolina, from Perth, decided to try the trick herself after seeing it online and shared a video on TikTok with her 1.3 million followers of the amazing results.
The hack promises soak up any remaining moisture from the machine onto a tea towel hung over the dishwasher door, leaving the containers dry.

It's difficult to trace where the tip originated from as other mums have also shared demonstrative videos online.
Earlier this month nurse and mum-of-two Leanne, from Brisbane, said she was 'sick' of her plastic containers coming out still wet when she put them in the dishwasher and also decided to try the towel trick.
Posting on her Home with Leanne account, Leanne said once the cycle is done and her containers are still inside, she puts a clean tea towel on the door before closing it.

When she opens the door just 30 minutes later, the containers are completely dry.
'Usually, if you use rinse aid or have a newer dishwasher the glasses and plastic containers dry during the cycle,' she wrote.
'However, if you find that your plastic containers and glasses don't dry, placing a tea towel in the dishwasher door will absorb the moisture and dry the containers and glasses.'
