The city police registered three more FIRs on Thursday in the fake vaccination drive carried out across the city. This comes after similar complaints were registered at Kandivli, Versova, Khar and Borivli police station. The cops believe that the same group had organised the vaccination drive at all these places.

On Thursday, the Bhoiwada police registered a case against six people for carrying out a fake drive at Podar Education Centre in Parel and inoculating 207 of its staff. The cops have booked two more people in the case Shrikant Mane and Seema Ahuja.

The other accused Mahendra Singh and Sannjay Gupta were arrested earlier.

A complaint was lodged by Shankar Kesari, purchase manager of Podar, in which he said that they had organised a vaccination drive for the staff of the school. On May 28 and 29, as many as 207 staffers were vaccinated.

Senior inspector from Bhoiwada police station Vinod Kamble said, “The accused claimed to be doctors and provided the victims with fake certificated from Nanavati and Lifeline Care hospitals. The accused charged the school Rs 2,44,800 for the drive. After the education centre learnt about the fake vaccination drive carried out by the same group who had inoculated them, they approached us. Further investigating on how,” said Kamble.

Meanwhile, a sixth FIR was lodged at Bangur Nagar police station against the same persons who were arrested by the Kandivli police. The Bangur Nagar cops registered a case after employees of Bank of Baroda approached them, claiming that 40 people were vaccinated in phases.

In the FIR, the complainant has said that Mahendra, held an account with the bank since 2013. So, the bank employees approached him to conduct a vaccination drive in April. The first two vaccination drives were conducted at Shivam Hospital, while the other two were carried out at the bank’s branch.

On Thursday, Borivali police station registered another FIR against the accused for carrying out vaccination at Mansi Share & Stock Advisor Pvt Ltd in Shimpoli where 514 people were administered the vaccines.
