NSA charges against three for poll attack in Gorakhpur

LUCKNOW: The Gorakhpur district administration has initiated proceedings under the stringent National Security Act (NSA) against Jayesh Nishad, Pannalal Yadav and Amit Yadav.
The trio is in jail in connection with a murderous attack on village pradhan candidates. Police said that on April 13, Jayesh had opened fire at pradhan candidate Akhilesh Singh in Gorakhpur. In another case, Pannalal and Amit had shot at another candidate, Sonu Singh, in Bansgaon village on April 16.
ADG, Gorakhpur zone, Akhil Kumar said that all three were criminals. “Jayesh was booked under charges of rioting and attempt to murder in Belipar police station area of Gorakhpur. Pannalal and Amit were booked under charges of attempt to murder in Bansgaon,” said Kumar. Senior police officials in Gorakhpur said the trio would be booked under Gangster Act too.
