Thane, Jun 24 (UNI) A seven-year-old girl who was allegedly 'kidnapped' from near her house in Vasai town, has finally been traced by the MBVV (Mira-Bhayander Vasai Virar) police.
On June 20, the girl's mother lodged a missing complaint with the Valiv police, who registered an offence under section 363 of Indian Penal Code, police said on Thursday.
Being a sensitive matter, police formed three teams to trace the missing girl.
During investigation, police came to know that the complainant mother had left her marital house in Bhayander some eight months back following a domestic quarrel with her husband and in-laws and went to stay at Pelhar of Waliv without informing them.
When a police team reached the husband's residence, they found the girl safe in the house.
He informed them that as his wife was not giving the daughter to him nor informed him about their whereabouts, he kidnapped her on the ill-fated day and kept her in his custody safely.
Police traced the girl in a couple of days and restored her to her mother.
No arrest has been made in this connection so far.
The local police are conducting further probe into the case, sources added.
