BHOPAL: On a petition filed in High Court by Congress MLA Arif Masood, related to theft of over 865 Remdesiver injections, the court has asked the police to prepare and present charge sheet and let the magistrate concerned decide about it.

The police havenít filed a charge sheet in the case even after two months in the case related to theft of 865 life saving Remdesivir injections from Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal.

Masoodís advocate Yavar Khan said that 865 life saving injections of Remdesivir were given to some people of high profile amidst raging pandemic with the help of people from hospitalís management. ìThe details of people given injections are in the hospital register which is in the possession of the police. It mentions names of some influential politicians and bureaucrats,í said advocate Yavar.

Advocate Khan further said that Chief Justice Rafiq Ahmad has given instructions to the investigation officer to take the investigation to its logical direction and place the report (charge sheet) under Section 173 before the court.

ìIt would be then for the court to scrutinise the matter as to correctness of the investigation,î directed the court.

MLA Masood had expressed concern over delay in the case and cast aspersions in the court that the police was going to close the matter. The instructions were given by the High Court in this regard.

MLA Arif Masood alleged that the crime branch is trying to save people named and involved in the high profile theft case.
