After a gap of one day, petrol and diesel price touching a fresh record high across the country. Petrol and diesel prices per litre in Chennai were at Rs98.88 and Rs92.89 respectively. Now, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram are inching towards this psychological landmark with petrol retailing at Rs99.80 and Rs99.74 respectively.
In Delhi, the petrol price rose 26 paise while that of diesel inched up 7 paise. While, in Kolkata the price petrol and diesel of it stood at Rs97.63 and Rs91.15/ litre respectively.
In Mumbai, petrol price now stands at Rs103.89 while diesel costs Rs95.79, as per data available on Indian Oil Corporation’s website showed.
The price of petrol has crossed the Rs100/litre mark in nine states and union territories – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Ladakh, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Odisha.
In the international market, crude oil prices climbed on Thursday with Brent crude soared past the USD 75 per barrel mark, the first time since April 2019.
