The Issue: Eric Adams’ lead in the New York City mayoral race after the primary vote on Tuesday.

How could a paper like The Post endorse Eric Adams (“Adams leads mayor vote,” June 23)?

He loves to talk about being a cop, but the NYPD didn’t endorse him. Is that not enough to show that he isn’t supported by the organization he likes to brag about having belonged to? Does anyone see this as a potential issue?

Why did he retire so early as a captain? The last thing this city needs is another mayor who thinks he knows better than NYPD brass.

If he wins, be prepared for more of the same — a sad state of affairs.

P. Kaplan
Manhattan

Eric Adams is a lot like the “Batman” character “Two-Face.”

On the one hand, as The Post noted, he talks tough on crime, or at least tough compared to the pro-criminal leftists running in the Democratic Party. He is an ex-cop, too.

But Adams was also the leader of 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care, an anti-cop predecessor of Black Lives Matter. That group never failed to bash cops even as the murder rate skyrocketed.

If Adams is the best that New York City can do, I feel sorry for the law-abiding citizens of Gotham.

Bob McManus, who is one of three “never-miss” columnists in The Post bull-pen (Miranda Devine and Michael Goodwin being the other two) had it right about Eric Adams passing the leadership test — sort of (“Eric passes the test of leadership,” June 21).

His words, backed with the action of putting up his own cash to catch a suspect, speak volumes. But his absence in the presence of surrender by Bronx and Manhattan district attorneys speaks just as loud.

Adams cares about crime to an extent — which stops when the cameras go away. Politics is local, but so is crime. If Adams is too afraid to speak out against these pro-crime district attorneys, he is not the right person for the times.

Eric Adams’ lead in the primary shows that the media’s gaslighting voters to defund the police did not work.

Andrew Yang did almost as badly as he did in his failed presidential run. New York University and Starbucks liberals were the only ones voting for this fool.

Hopefully in November we will be calling Curtis Sliwa “Hizzoner.”

The Issue: Christopher Rufo’s debunking of a Washington Post piece accusing him of false reporting.

There is no endgame with this Critical Race Theory insanity (“Failed Smear,” PostOpinion, June 23).

The purveyors of it happily sit back, or even join in, as lily-white spineless saps beg forgiveness for their privilege or simply for being born. Progressives try ending oppression by invoking more of it.

As for the news outlets named in attacks on Christopher Rufo, it can only mean one thing — he’s got truth on his side.

Between its “New Normal” series and its despicable smear job on Rufo, The Washington Post has now solidified its standing as the worst newspaper in the country.

This paper invents a story and then tries to back it up with smears disguised as facts. The Rufo piece was particularly egregious.

Does owner Jeff Bezos not realize that this is the kind of stuff that goes on in places like China, or does he just not care? His paper is an embarrassment.
