Assam Home Guard earns praise for helping in seizure of Meth worth Rs 12 crores despite being offered huge bribe

A Home Guard jawan has made headlines by helping in the recovery of 3 kg of high-quality drugs (Crystal Methamphetamine) worth around Rs 12 crores while performing his duty. Assam Police DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta, impressed by the selfless and honest duty of Home Guard Borsing Bay, has announced a reward of one lakh rupees. The Home Guard is posted at the Dilai Police Station in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.

According to the police, they intercepted a bus in Karbi Anglong coming from Manipur on Monday evening and recovered 3 kg crystal methamphetamine tables worth Rs 12 crore. Two women from Tamil Nadu Lakhsmi D and Panjabhiram along with a Manipuri man Khoiram Basanta Singha, have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Mahant tweeted on Monday night that the credit for catching these drugs goes to Home Guard Borsing Bay. He wrote on Twitter "Mr Bay was offered a huge bribe amount by the accused in return for letting them go free but he refused". Mahant further said that "Bey would be rewarded with an amount of Rs 1 lakh for this selfless and honest work. Salute to Home Guard Bey".

Because of which drugs worth Rs.12 crores have been taken off the market. Sri Bay for this selfless and honest act, will be rewarded with an amount of Rs. One Lakh.
