The City of Tshwane has opened six more Covid-19 vaccination sites as the country grapples with a third wave of SARS-CoV-2 infections.
In a statement on Tuesday, the City said it had 26 sites in total.
One of the new sites, the Pretoria North Club Rendezvous, has been dedicated to the vaccination of teachers for the next three weeks.
These are the new vaccination sites:

Refentse Clinic
Temba Community Health Centre
Pyramid Hall 30 Fanie van Rensburg
Mandela Community Centre
Temba Stadium
"These additional sites will boost the City's fight against this dreadful pandemic," City spokesperson Selby Bokaba said.
Bokaba added:
"As of [Monday], 21 June 2021, the active cases had risen to more than 17 000 from last week's figure of just over 10 000."

According to the Gauteng government, Tshwane recorded 150 827 cases by Tuesday and 3 433 Covid-19-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The City also recorded 2 082 new cases on Tuesday.
Gauteng has recorded 560 202 infections and 12 170 deaths.
