Mumbai: Widening its probe into the drug case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday detained Iqbal Kaskar, the brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Kaskar was detained in the city in connection with a drugs case in Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently, the NCB had recovered 25 kgs of charas which was being brought to Punjab from Jammu and Kashmir, from where it was to be distributed to Mumbai.
During the investigation, the central agency found out that the underworld was linked to terror funding and illegal narcotics supply in the country.
They then took Kaskar into their custody, who was already lodged in the Thane jail for extorting money from businessmen and builders in the city.
He has now been taken to the NCB's regional office in Mumbai and further interrogation is underway.
