Parsa’s makes entry to Chenab Valley





Srinagar, June 22: Jammu and Kashmir’s largest and fastest-growing food chain, Parsa’s, opened its outlet in Bhaderwah town of Chenab Valley on Tuesday.
The outlet is located in the heart of serene Bhaderwah town also called as ‘Mini Kashmir’.
Apart from serving delicious food, Parsa’s will be the very first of its kind restaurant in Bhaderwah with a book bank and a space for events. The franchisee is run by Sayed Imran an engineering graduate who is going to provide employment to at least five local youth through this venture.
Overwhelmed by the local response, Javid Parsa, Founder Parsa Foods said "it is a small step to give a platform for regional interaction.”
“Apart from food, it will act as a hub of art and cultural exchange. We are planning to cover entire Chenab and Pir-panchal regions by this year-end if situation improves.”
They will be organising lot of cultural and literary events at Bhaderwah outlet in the near future, he added.
Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag, seizes 55 kgs of poppy straw
Anantnag, June 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and recovered 55 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
A statement said, a team from Bijbehara police station at a checkpoint established at Waghama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-8799.
“During checking, the team recovered 55 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle,” it said.
The arrested has been identified as Ghulam Mohammad Dass son of Mohammad Maqbool Dass, a resident of Waghama Bijbehara.
“He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” the statement said.
Accordingly, a case FIR 185/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at police station Bijbehara and investigation has been taken up, it said.
Meanwhile, police have urged the general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.
“Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” the police statement said.
Covid-19 lockdown violations: 7181 penalised, over Rs 12 lakh fine collected in 24-hours
Srinagar, June 22: Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of coronavirus, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday penalised 7181 persons and collected over Rs 12 lakh as fine from violators of Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.
“During the last 24 hours, police have realized fine to the tune of Rs 12,05,690 from 7181 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines and SOPs,” a police spokesman said.
Besides, 13 vehicles were also seized in district Shopian for violating Covid-19 norms.
The spokesman said, since the outbreak of the second wave of coronavirus, police have enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious disease.
“Slew of measures including restrictions under section 144 of CrPC have been put into place to contain the spread of Covid-19,” he said.
Keeping in view the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, he said the police also enhanced the efforts to implement the Covid guidelines/SOPs strictly.
Police have sought the cooperation of people in containing the spread of coronavirus by following the SOPs/guidelines/protocols strictly.
The spokesman said the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules shall continue throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to curb the infection spread and to strengthen safety measures.
