Veteran television actor Ghanshyam Nayak, known for playing the role of Nattu Kaka in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', is undergoing cancer treatment.

His son Vikas Nayak confirmed the same recently and said that he is doing fine but has to undergo chemotherapy session once a month.

However, his illness has not deterred him from shooting as he recently filmed for the sitcom.

During an interaction with ETimes TV, Nayak shared that he is doing absolutely fine and is just waiting to resume shooting in Mumbai. He also stated that his doctors told him there's no need to worry and he can also work.

The senior actor further said that he knows that he will live for 100 years and nothing will happen to him.

Recently, the actor had reacted to the rumours of being unemployed and facing a financial crisis. While talking to TOI, the actor had said that he did not lose his job and his source of income. He mentioned that senior actors are not allowed to shoot outside Maharashtra during the amid pandemic situation, hence he will resume shooting once the situation gets better.

He had also informed the portal that the team of TMKOC is looking after him.

The actor has appeared in a number of television serials as well as films, including 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Lajja', 'Khakee', 'China Gate', and 'Barsaat' among others.
