Mumbai News Live Updates: Maharashtra administers the highest number of vaccine doses

For the second consecutive day, Mumbai has vaccinated over 1 lakh people. On Tuesday, 1,13,135 people got vaccinated across 382 centres. Mumbai recorded 570 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the total caseload to 7,22,461. Also, 10 patients succumbed to the infection, pushing the death toll of the financial hub of the country to 15,315. The active cases in the city stand at 14,453. Maharashtra has carried out the highest number of vaccinations in a single day. A total of 5,52,909 people got vaccinated as the drive was opened for people above 18 years. Maharashtra reports 8,470 new COVID-19 cases, 188 deaths; 9,043 recover

Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 8,470 new coronavirus cases - up from 6,270 cases a day ago - taking its COVID-19 tally to 59,87,521, while 188 fresh deaths pushed the toll to 1,18,795. As many as 9,043 patients were discharged during the day, taking the number of recovered cases to 57,42,258, a statement from the health department said. There are now 1,23,340 active cases in the state.
