
Rapper DMX will be honoured at the 2021 BET Awards in June, Billboard has revealed.
According to the publication, the tribute, curated by DMX's long-time friend Swizz Beatz, will include performances by Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Griselda, and Swizz as well.
Actor Michael K. Williams will also make an appearance.
BET's Connie Orlando said in a statement shared by Billboard: "We look forward to celebrating DMX's indelible mark in music and pop culture."
She added: "DMX inspired fans around the world with his signature raspy voice, the delivery of raw emotion through his lyrics and performances, and his giving spirit."
DMX died on 9 April at the age of 50.
The 2021 BET Awards will take place on Sunday, 27 June and will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
Locally, the ceremony will air live on Monday 28 June on BET Africa (DStv 129) at 02:00 CAT, with a repeat at 19:00.
