Chandigarh, Jun 23 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda says that the intentions and policies of the BJP-JJP government are causing loss to farmers , labourers and arhtiyas.
The policies of the current government are proving to be harmful for every farmer from a crop producer to animal husbandary owner.Even, the government's promise of doubling the income and buying at MSP is also proving to be a jumla. Farmers are compelled to sell their maize at the rate of Rs 1300 to 1400 per quintal. While the MSP of maize is Rs 1850 . The farmers have shown the slip of the purchase of the crop and told that they have to sell the crop at a lower rate of Rs 400 to 500 per quintal .
Bhupinder Singh Hooda has demanded the government to compensate the farmers for this loss. Along with this, he has also raised the demand for payment of dues of wheat producing farmers. Because till now crores of rupees of farmers are pending with the government. Hooda has also demanded payment of sugarcane along with wheat.
He said the government should make payment to the farmers at the earliest so that they do not face financial difficulties in preparing for the coming crops. Along with the farmers, the government has also violated the promises made by the arhtiyas. They are not being paid their full dues. Farmers , labourers and arhtiyas are entitled to their fair remuneration. Any deduction in this is unfair to them.
The Leader of Opposition said on the complaints received from the cattle rearing farmers that in the present government, the animal insurance scheme has been reduced to paper only. During the Congress government, the loss of cattle farmers was compensated in lieu of insurance. But in this government, neither the animals are being insured nor any claim is being given to the cattle owners for several months. The tradition of periodical investment by the government and the incentives given to the cattle owners has also almost ended. Not only this , the present government has directly increased the entry fee of 50-100 rupees for cattle fairs to thousands of rupees. It is clear that due to the policies of the coalition government, many farmers are facing heavy losses.
