Imphal, June 22 2021: The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has directed the State police to dispose of the betel leaves which were seized from an Eeco van by a team of commandos at Kwakeithel Crossing on Monday.

It may be mentioned that 9 baskets of betel leaves which are not listed as an essential item by the Government were seized by the Imphal West commando on Monday at around 1.30 pm.

Two occupants of the van - Vikash Singh (27), s/o of K Boyai Singh of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai and Yumnam Malemnganba Singh (21), S/o Y Babu Singh of Changangei Makhai Leikai were arrested by the team.

They, however, have been released on bail.
