As we entered the workforce, even the best among us has been part of some horrifying gaffes. And last week, it was the turn of an intern with HBO Max. But what began with countless individuals on HBO Max's mailing list receiving a blank "integration test email" has now led to a wave of support for the unfortunate intern.

"We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it," the company tweeted.

And while some applauded the intern for reminding people of the "human side" of major companies, others opined that it was unnecessary for HBO to "put the intern on blast like this".

A vast majority however took to the microblogging platform with the hashtag "Dear Intern", reassuring the unknown individual with stories from their own past. From accidentally erasing crucial data to making typing errors or sharing confidential information - it would seem that others on the internet have had their fair share of crises.

"Dear intern, it gets better. PS - Don’t wear a beret for awhile, okay?" tweeted Monica Lewinsky. The activist and TV personality incidentally had been a White House intern when she found herself embroiled in a scandal with US President Bill Clinton. The reference to a beret incidentally is a nod at the oft shared image of her taken at the time.

"Dear Intern, I was using my desktop calendar to make a monthly note of when I started my menstrual period, but after several months I realized I was making that note on a calendar I shared with all of my colleagues company wide. I was 37 years old," revealed writer and producer Caissie St.Onge.
