B L Santosh, Radha Mohan Singh meet UP CM, ministers to discuss polls strategy

Lucknow, Jun 22 (UNI) The BJP national leaders met UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet colleagues to chalk out strategy for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
National Secretary (organisation) B L Santosh and party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Radha Mohan Singh held an almost three-hour long meeting with ministers on Tuesday evening where they asked about the progress of different departments and how they can project the same in the next Sankalp Patra (election manifesto).
Besides the Chief Minister, his two deputy chief Ministers and cabinet-rank ministers took part in the meeting. Former state presidents Vinay Katiyar, Laxmi Kant Bajpayee and Ramapati Shastri too attended the meeting. BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh and secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal were also present in the meeting.
“The meeting fine tuned the party's strategy for the 2022 elections which will be based on the government's achievements. The promises made during 2017 and how many of them were fulfilled were discussed in detail,” the source said.
Only cabinet rank-ministers were invited to this meeting.
Source told this reporter that cabinet ministers were asked to prepare a report card of their departments so that the theme of the 2022 assembly election could be finalized.
During his last visit to Lucknow, almost three weeks ago, Santosh had met ministers individually to know the work being done by their departments.
This was the second day of the meeting of senior RSS and BJP leaders with party officials and the Chief Minister. On Monday, Santosh held a series of meetings with the BJP workers and the RSS leaders and later in the day, also held a meeting with Chief Minister which was also attended by his two deputies – Dr Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya.
On Tuesday morning, the national leaders met BJP party office-bearers where strategy of Panchayat elections was discussed. Party leaders were asked to ensure victory of at least 65 District Panchayat presidents in the election, slated for the end of this month.
Earlier in the day, the CM went to the residence of Keshav Prasad Maurya where he had lunch along with other senior RSS leaders and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma.
