Twitter has announced that users can now share tweets directly on Instagram Stories. So, they don’t have to take screenshots again and again and then post them on the Stories. This sounds like an interesting update especially for those who often share their tweets with those on Instagram via their Stories. But, perhaps this feature is only available for iOS users for now.

Twitter hasn’t disclosed when this capability will be rolled out to Android users.

The feature seems to have been rolled out to curb the usage of storage that tends to get piled up due to so many screenshots.

How to share tweet on Instagram Stories -

• After creating a tweet or choosing your favorite tweet on Twitter, click on the Share icon on that tweet
• Select the Instagram icon from that share sheet
• You will be redirected to the Story section of your Instagram account
• A new Story draft will be created, which you can choose to send directly or add elements such as a sticker or a handwritten note, just like you do while creating a new IG Story.
• Once the IG Story with your tweet inside is created, you will be able to send it directly to one of your followers or groups on Instagram.

Also, note that a protected tweet can not be shared.

The Instagram Story creates an information card-like structure for your shared tweets. This card will not only include your tweet but also the number of likes, comments, or retweets if they have any. But, at the moment these Instagram Stories with tweets inside them aren’t clickable, which means users seeing them will not be able to tap on them for viewing them back on Twitter.

This makes this feature no lesser than sharing a screenshot which is also not clickable. However, this process aims at preventing your phone’s storage from getting jam-packed with so many screenshots.
