Marking a yet another milestone, Maharashtra on June 23 administered more than 6 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses. According to state additional Chief Secretary, Health, Dr Pradip Vyas, the state administered 6,07,405 doses till 7 PM and it is likely to increase further.

With todays' count Maharashtra has bettered the performance of yesterday (June 22) and have administered highest ever number of covid vaccination doses in a single day.

Yesterday the state administered 5,58,639 doses.

With around 6.2 lakh doses, the state has so far administered 2,36,50,964 first dose while 56,81,016 beneficiaries have received second dose. The total count of the doses administered till date is 2,93,31,980.

Capital city Mumbai has inoculated 1,08,552 doses today while Pune has administered 89,061 doses.

Maharashtra tops the states with a total of 2,93,31,980 inoculations followed by Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, with 2,79,98,330, 2,35,05,931 and 2,24,89,164 doses respectively.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 8,470 fresh cases, taking the number of active cases to 1,23,340. Besides, 188 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the number of total fatalities to 1,18,795.

9,043 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 57,42,258. The recovery rate in the state rose to 95.9%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.98%.

Currently, 6,58,863 people are in home quarantine and 4,196 people are in institutional quarantine.
