Cheers to going legit!
After multiple arrests, getting robbed at gunpoint, and being attacked by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters at his underground parties in Soho and on the Lower East Side, Omar’s alum Ivan Busheski is bringing his party-boy act to the Hamptons. But this time, it’s all above board.
Busheski told Page Six that he and his pandemic party business partner Blair Qyteza have completely parted ways with the Omar’s brand, and are opening a new supper club, Mars, in East Hampton.
“It’s Mars, like the planet, it’s a different level. It’s a nightclub, dining room and a garden that will [be] like Tulum style on Mars,” Busheski said.
Past hot spots Pink Elephant, Philippe Chow and [Miss] Chloe once occupied the space. Busheski has been rolling out different parts of the venue every week “to test things” before the official grand opening. (Last weekend, Damian Lazarus spun at the nightclub part of the venue).
One theme Busheski promises to avoid: “French burlesque. Everyone is doing it now. We’re staying away from that. There will be live music, girls playing violins, and fish tanks with piranhas,” he said.
“[Entertainment] will be a cross between ‘American Idol,’ ‘Crazy Horse Paris,’ and Ivan from Prince Street,” he added, referring to the Prince Street loft in Soho where his underground parties were constantly monitored — and infamously shut down on New Year’s Eve.
He pulled back from the parties to focus on building his new hospitality company with Qyteza, titled Bliv, the first two letters of their names.
“No one heard from us for three or four months because we’ve been working on this project,” he said.
He proudly claims they were the “first ones to do the underground parties” and are the “first to officially open a new club” as New York strives to return to nightlife.
The official grand opening of Mars will happen either “this weekend or the Fourth of July,” he told us. Bliv’s goal is to next launch Mars with locations in the city and other clubs around the world.
