In what is bound to cause more trouble for the Maha Vikas Aghadi, the State Election Commission has announced the programme of holding bypolls for Dhule, Nandurbar, Akola, Washim and Nagpur zilla parishad polls and 33 other panchayat samitis. Both the BJP and the state government’s own ministers have publicly threatened that they would not let the elections for local body polls to be conducted unless reservations to the OBC community was restored.

According to the notification the state election Commission on Tuesday would be conducting the election on July 19 and the results would be declared on July 20.

There is a question mark on the elections as two of Maharashtra Ministers from the OBC community have threatened to not let such polls take place unless the OBC’s get their reservation.
