The session – moderated by EY’s Global Telecommunications Industry Leader, Tom Loozen – will explore the global shift to digital interactions, and focus on examples of successful business strategies from AI and data implementation to improve positive customer experiences. The leadership panel will also discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by businesses, plus look ahead to what is in store for the new connected consumer, whose behaviours, expectations and values have dramatically changed. Fernando will be joined on the panel by Francesco Ferro, CEO of PAL Robotics; Vasco Pedro, CEO & Co-Founder of Unbabel; Karine Dussert-Sarthe, EVP Group Marketing, Design and Open Innovation for Orange Group; and Mercedes Jiménez López, Director of Data Transformation and Advance Analytics for Telefonica.
The GSMA is significantly enhancing its Mobile World Congress hybrid experience for 2021, combining unique in-person and virtual elements, and the organisers are aiming to attract 35,000 in-person attendees from around the globe and thousands more online. One-third of the 350 speakers attending MWC21 will participate virtually, with Microsoft Teams announced as the GSMA’s official video conference and meeting partner. Online attendees can join live-streamed virtual exhibition tours led by industry experts, ask questions via live chat, or watch sessions on-demand. The theme of this year’s event is “Connected Impact”, spanning in-depth topic sessions on Start-up Innovation, AI, Creative Technology, Future Society, Connectivity, Connected Industry and Customer Experience.
Fernando Núñez-Mendoza, a serial technology entrepreneur and disruptor, is co-founder, chief executive officer, and chief technology officer of fonYou. Before fonYou, he was a management consulting partner at Accenture and Diamond Cluster International, helping global telecommunications, technology, and financial service firms embrace the internet and thrive in the brave new digital world. In his earlier career, Fernando worked for the European Space Agency, lectured and performed research in computer engineering and neural networks.
Fernando holds MSEE and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain), was an invited Visiting Scholar at Purdue University, and is alumni of Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
