Mukul Roy said on the BJP leaders joining TMC, “Beginning of BJP’s end in the state”

On Monday, the BJP’s Alipurduar district president Ganga Prasad Sharma and seven other leaders joined the TMC. This would be another setback for BJP. Mukul Roy, the TMC leader, left the BJP two weeks ago, and said that the latest switches would herald the beginning of the saffron party’s end in the state.
The other new TMC members apart from Sharma included the BJP’s former district general secretary, secretary, Vice President, convenor and the former deputy convenor of the Kalchini block.

Mukul Roy who was the BJP’s national Vice President until recently said that the BJP’s rise in the state began with the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, when it had managed to bag several seats in the North Bengal, and the downfall would also start from the same region. In an press meet at the Trinamool Bhawan, Roy also mentioned that it was a glimpse of what lies ahead and the BJP’s fall in the state was imminent.

On being asked whether he would heed BJP’s demand for his resignation as an MLA, Mukul Roy mentioned that Suvendu Adhikari, BJP leader, should ask his father Sisir Adhikari to step down from the post of MP as he had joined the BJP.

Sharma said that the resentment against the BJP had been there before the elections, when the central and the state BJP leadership never bothered to consult them before the fielding of the candidates, they never felt insulted, howsoever, they did not leave the party before the elections as they would have been called traitors at that time.

Sharma on being asked whether Suvendu Adhikari would have stayed with the BJP if he had not been made the Leader of Opposition, he said that the senior BJP leader Manoj Tigga should not have been given the post.
