Ludhiana: After more than five months, Ludhiana recorded a low of 19 Covid cases on Monday. On January 18, the district had logged 14 cases. As per the health department bulletin, two deaths were reported on the day. Of these, one patient each was of Ludhiana and Moga. The deceased from the district is a 60-year-old woman of Dholewal, who breathed her last at a city hospital. Civil surgeon Dr Kiran Ahluwalia said the district’s toll has mounted to 2,077 and that of outsiders to 1,031. To date, 16,20,345 persons have been tested. Eight persons from outside Ludhiana, too, tested positive here on Monday. The local health department officials said the district’s case count is 86,657 and that of outsiders here is 11,441. So far, 83,984 patients have recovered, which constitutes 96.92% of the total cases. There are 596 active cases. On the day, the number of samples collected was 9,384. Twenty-one patients are on ventilators. Of them, 10 are of Ludhiana.
