Let us tell you that at an event on Sunday, Venkatrama Reddy was seen touching the feet of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao. The Chief Minister was then in Siddipet and had come there to inaugurate a new building. Reacting to the video of the IAS officer touching his feet, Congress spokesperson Shravan Dasoju said that the District Magistrate should not have touched Rao's feet. Apart from this, he said that IAS officers have now become puppets and slaves.
Dasoju said that the IAS officer should not forget that he has been elected under the Constitution. If he considers the Chief Minister as his father, then he can go to his house and touch his feet. He further said that what message will be sent to the general public by touching such feet in a public place?
At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson K Krishna Sagar said that if the IAS officers have so much respect for their Chief Minister, then they can touch his feet in a personal way. He further said that such acts vitiate the sovereignty, independence, and profession of an IAS officer. Apart from this, BJP spokesperson accused KC Rao and said that only after the High Court's rebuke did the Chief Minister announce the imposition of a lockdown against Corona in the state.
