Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the participants of Toycathon-2021 via video conference on Thursday, June 24 at 11 am. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has given this information. Toycathon-2021 was launched on January 5, 2021 to crowd-source innovative toy and game ideas. Around 1.2 lakh participants from across India registered and submitted over 17,000 ideas for Toycathon 2021. Out of these, 1,567 ideas have been shortlisted for the three-day online Toycathon Grand Finale to be held from June 22 to June 24.
Due to restrictions imposed due to the Corona pandemic, the Grand Finale will feature teams with digital toy ideas, while a separate physical event will be held for non-digital toy concepts. The domestic market of India, as well as the global toy market, offers a huge opportunity for the manufacturing sector. Toycathon-2021 aims to boost the toy industry in India, to help it capture a wider share of the toy market.
