Meghalaya received 269 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Sunday while five people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
Fresh cases on Sunday pushed the state`s total cases tally to 45,555. The north-eastern state has 4,196 active cases currently.
The cumulative recoveries reached 40,574 after 655 under-treatment patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.
The total fatalities in the state have climbed to 785 after five deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The new cases of infection include 120 from East Khasi Hills, 57 from Ri-Bhoi, 13 from West Garo Hills, 42 from West Jaintia Hills, 5 from East Jaintia Hills, 6 from West Khasi Hills, 2 from South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills, 12 from East Garo Hills and 10 from North Garo Hills, the health official informed.

Among the fresh fatalities, 3 were reported from East Khasi Hills, and 1 each from West Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts, Health Services director Aman War said.
