Supreme Court Rules Against NCAA in Athlete-Compensation Case

The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for greater compensation for student-athletes in a ruling that may loosen the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s grip over college sports.

Ruling unanimously, the nation’s highest court rejected the NCAA’s bid for broad antitrust immunity and upheld an order that will let member schools provide more education-related benefits to student-athletes, including computers and internships.
