    Shares of Power Finance Corp. fall as Nifty drops

    Synopsis

    On the technical charts, the 200-day moving average of the stock stood at Rs 110.99.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished up 1,048.86 points, or 5.20 per cent, to 21,237.38 on Tuesday. The S&P500 index increased 143.06 points, or 6.00 per cent, to 2,529.19.
    Shares of Power Finance Corporation Ltd. slipped 0.97 per cent to Rs 123.15 in Monday's trade as of 12:14PM (IST). It hit a high of Rs 123.85 and low of Rs 122.4 during the session.

    The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 140.5 and a low of Rs 78.9. The return on equity for the stock stood at 14.41 per cent. About 257,291 shares have changed hands on the counter so far.

    The stock's beta value, which measures its volatility in relation to the broader market, stood at 1.57.

    The scrip has been an underperformer, up 44.46 per cent in the past one year in comparison with a 54.22 per cent gain in Sensex.

    Technicals
    On the technical charts, the 200-day moving average (DMA) of the stock stood at Rs 78.9 on June 21, while the 50-DMA was at Rs 116.29. If a stock trades well above 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it usually means the immediate trend is upward. On the other hand, if the stock trades well below 50-DMA and 200-DMA both, it is considered a bearish trend and if trades between these averages, then it suggests the stock can go either way.

    Promoters held 55.99 per cent stake in Power Finance Corporation Ltd. as of 31-Mar-2021. Mutual funds and foreign institutional investors held 13.36 per cent and 17.32 per cent stake.
