LIVE market updates: The Indian benchmark indices erased their morning losses and were trading with in the green in noon deals of Monday’s volatile session.
The S&P BSE Sensex hovered around 52,500 levels, up 150 points. The index fell to as low as 51,740 levels in intra-day deals. The broader Nifty50 index was above the 15,700-mark. ICICI Bank fell 2 per cent and was the top Sensex laggard, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank of India, and IndusInd Bank (all down over 1%).
Majority of the Nifty sectoral indices were in the green, led by Nifty PSU Bank index, up 4 per cent.
The broader markets, meanwhile, outperformed their benchmark peers, with the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices trading 0.65 per cent higher, each.
