Imphal, June 20 2021: A team of Narcotics Cell, Imphal West on Sunday arrested two persons with drugs which were hidden in the car they were travelling in.

The accused persons have been identified as Md Nawaz Sharif (28), son of Md Zamalluddin and Md Anis (28), son of Md Ayub, both from Haoreibi Makha Leikai, Lilong, Thoubal district.

According to police reports, the Narcotics Cell team intercepted a cream coloured Alto car (MN05A-7549) coming towards Imphal at Canchipur around 3:20 pm.

On search of the vehicle, the team recovered 18 soap cases filled with heroin and three packets containing 3,636 WY tablets from inside the dashboard of the car.

The arrested people along with seized car, drugs and tablets were handed over to Singjamei police station for further necessary action.
