Ambala, Jun 21 (UNI) The farmers from Ambala district wearing black badges demonstrated in front of the Panchayat Bhawan where State Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar was to preside over the monthly meeting of the District Grievances Committee Monday.
The Minister Gujjar who had sent message of his arrival, later cancelled his program to reach Ambala after he received information of farmers agitation at the Panchayat Bhawan venue of the monthly meeting. The farmers were raising slogans of ‘go back’ and ‘withdraw black farm laws. The farmers had inkling of the celebration of Yoga Day also so they reached every point where the Yoga Day celebrations were to be organized. Yoga Day was however, held at 61 places in the district.
The district level Yoga Day was held at the Subhash Bose Park Ambala Cantt where the State Home Minister Anil Vij was the chief guest. The people gathered at the Park, took part in the celebration by performing the Yoga and Pranayam conducted by the yog guru from Ayush department. Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister Anil Vij said Yoga was heritage from the seers in olden days who practiced yoga and pranayam. He said yoga was perfect technique to keep the body fit for healthy people.
Elsewhere, the Haryana BJP President Om Prakash Dhankhar chaired the yoga function celebrated at Shehzadpur Naraingarh sub division. Speaking on the occasion, Dhankhar said the country was celebrating the Yoga Day in every corner of the country. He said the Yoga Day was celebrated in many countries which had agreed to the UN resolution presented by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seven years back. Since then the Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June every year.
