Determined to transform TN as envisioned by Periyar : DMK govt

Chennai, June 21 (UNI) The ruling DMK is determined to
transform Tamil Nadu into a State with a society with
self-respect as envisioned by Rationalist leder Periyar.
Delivering his customary address to the newly constituted
16th Legislative Assembly, Governor Banwarilal Purohit said
the State Government would be driven by the fundamental
principle of social justice, “everything for everyone” and
will serve as a Government for all.
''This will be a people’s Government and not a party’s
Government. This Government will govern in a manner that
all the people in the State will be united in proudly and
whole heartedly proclaiming it,“Our Government'', he said.
"This Government is determined to transform Tamil Nadu into
a State with a society with self-respect, with an empowered
citizenry enjoying their rights, and which is prosperous in all
respects, as envisioned by Thanthai Periyar', the Governor said.
"Marching forward along the path laid down by the incomparable
Dravidian ideologue and the architect of modern Tamil society,
late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, we will elevate the State to a
level where all States in India will look up to Tamil Nadu. We
will establish beyond doubt that our beloved Tamil Nadu is an
unparalleled State in India", the Governor said.
