Casco Twp. man pleads guilty to second-degree murder in Fort Gratiot slaying

Josiah Lopiccolo pleaded guilty to two charges Monday.

A 24-year-old Casco Township man accused in a 2019 Fort Gratiot slaying has pleaded guilty to two charges. 

Josiah Lopiccolo took the plea Monday, a day before his jury trial was scheduled to begin, pleading guilty to second-degree murder and felony firearm. 

Kevin Anderson, 27, of Port Huron, was found dead in the 4000 block of Keewahdin Road on Feb. 10, 2019. 

Lopiccolo was originally charged with open murder, tampering with evidence and felony firearms in Anderson's slaying.

He is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 9. 

His lawyer was not immediately available for comment.
