BAGLI (DEWAS DISTRICT): I am for the farmers' union that Narmada water be provided to every field, I will not sit peacefully until this demand is met.

Ex-minister Archana Chitnis said so in a programme organised by the farmers' union in Nayapura village recently.

Indian Farmers Union submitted a memorandum regarding the irrigation project to Chitnis.

She said that the campaign would continue till all the villages in the area are not included under the Hatpipliya Uddhaan Irrigation Scheme. With their inclusion the yield will increase, the standard of living of the farmers will improve, she added.

Gordhan Patidar, the district president of the Farmers Union, said that they have been agitating since 2006 to bring Narmada in the area.

Senior advocate Praveen Choudhary, MLA representative Kamal Yadav, Narayan Yadav of Kisan Sangh and others addressed the gathering. Programme was conducted by Shantilal Soliya.

A large number of farmers' union members including Manoj Tarwala, Pawan Patidar, Om Sharma, Vinay Bothra were present.
