Introduction and Scope
Currently, there is a hot controversy on the origin of the SARS-CoV-2. This Virtual Special Issue (VSI), entitled “Scientific evidence on the origin of SARS-CoV-2”, is launched with the aim of stimulating the submission of new high quality scientific research papers and review-articles on the matter, with solid evidence to shed light on it.
In fact, the Editors involved in the VSI are aware of the difficulties of presenting concluding facts on the theme at this moment, but due to its high relevance and current impact, they think that, bearing in mind that some teams of researchers had already started investigations in this regard, a VSI stimulating the scientific controversy, but always requiring scientific evidence, could enrich it and maybe could aid to elucidate complicated aspects, or could be an aid go a step ahead in this way.
In view of that, the Editors encourage interested teams of researchers that have solid results to submit high quality manuscripts dealing with this crucial theme, which is of maximum interest for the scientific community and for the whole society, now and probably for the future.
