Mabrey´s bounce-back game leads Wings past Lynx

Marina Mabrey bounced back from her worst offensive game of the season with a season-high 28 points to lead the Dallas Wings to a dominating 95-77 win over the visiting Minnesota Lynx on Saturday in Arlington, Texas in the second of back-to-back games between the teams.

The Lynx beat Dallas 85-73 on Thursday, handing the Wings their worst loss of the season. But Saturday's game belonged to Dallas from the start, as it roared to a double-digit lead in the first quarter, expanded that advantage throughout the second, and never allowed the Lynx to within 12 points after halftime.

Arike Ogunbowale added 16 points for the Wings (6-7), which snapped a two-game losing streak, scoring in double figures for the 50th straight game, which leads the WNBA and expanded her franchise record. Tyasha Harris hit for 13 points with Kayla Thornton scoring 10 for Dallas.

Crystal Dangerfield and Napheesa Collier led the Lynx (5-7) with 17 points each. Kayla McBride added 13, and Damiris Dantas had 10 for Minnesota, which has dropped two of its past three games

The Wings made an early statement, roaring to a 29-14 lead after the first quarter behind 8 points from Ogunbowale and 9 of 17 shooting from the floor. Minnesota only shot 25 percent in the opening period.

Dallas kept things rolling in the second period, pushing its advantage to 25 points after Mabrey's 3-pointer at the 1:54 mark. The Wings settled for a 55-35 lead at halftime after recording their highest scoring first half of the season.

Ogunbowale led all scorers with 11 points over the first two periods with Mabrey, who was held scoreless in Thursday's loss and came off the bench to begin Saturday's game, adding 10 points in the half. Dallas outshot the Lynx 47.2 percent to 34.2 percent in the half, and went 11 of 18 from beyond the arc.

McBride paced Minnesota with 9 points in the first half.

The Lynx clawed back to within 12 points four times in the third quarter and trailed 74-62 heading into the final 10 minutes.
