Hamilton County Sheriff's vehicle recovered after it was stolen early Saturday morning, but weapon missing

Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey reported that her assigned county vehicle has been recovered after it was stolen from her driveway Saturday morning, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said the vehicle was reported stolen at 8 a.m. Saturday and was recovered at 1 p.m. the same day.

Her vehicle was locked at the time it was stolen, reported the sheriff's office.

Sheriff McGuffey's weapon, which was secured in her car, was not found in the recovered vehicle and is missing at this time.

The sheriff's office said an investigation into the stolen vehicle is ongoing. The location of where the stolen assigned county vehicle was found has not been disclosed by authorities at this time.
