After parents’ death, man rapes minor sister for 3 years in Ahmedabad

In her rape complaint, the minor said her brother took her in following the death of her parents. As her brother was her only guardian, she kept mum despite being repeatedly raped by him.

A 15-year-old girl from Ahmedabad on Wednesday registered a police complaint against her elder brother, 26, alleging he raped her for three years and threatened to kill her, a Times of India report stated.

In her rape complaint filed at Sarkhej police station, the minor said her brother took her in following the death of her parents. As her brother was her only guardian, she kept mum despite being repeatedly raped by him.

After the victim did not get her menses for three months, she decided to confide in her sister-in-law’s mother, who took her to a hospital for a check-up.

Following the complaint, the accused was arrested and booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The FIR lodged by the victim stated that her brother first forced himself upon her on the night of January 29, 2019 and threatened to kill her if she resisted to told anyone about the attack.

The 15-year-old said her brother continued to rape her whenever he found her alone in the house or when his wife was asleep.

The victim, her brother and sister-in-law lived in a rented accommodation in Makarba. According to the FIR, her father died when she was a year old, and her mother passed away when she was eight.
