Mike Tyson believes Tyson Fury has Deontay Wilder's number ahead of their trilogy clash next month.

The duo are set to face off for a third and potentially final time on 24 July in Las Vegas.

Their first fight took place in December three years ago, and ended in a controversial fashion with a split decision draw at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, which saw the Bronze Bomber retain his WBC heavyweight crown.

But Tyson was in attendance when 14 months later Fury ended the American's five-year stranglehold on that title in their rematch in Las Vegas after the towel came in during the seventh round from Wilder's corner at the MGM Grand Arena. 

Wilder and Fury's face off earlier this week saw the former refuse to speak to his opponent, instead letting the silence speak for him but when words were said Fury vowed to 'smash in Wilder's face for the second time' in Las Vegas next month.

And Iron Mike - who returned to the ring in November last year for a post-retirement exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr that ended in a draw - believes that The Gypsy King has Wilder's number.

Asked if the trilogy fight could go either way, Tyson told his Hotboxing podcast with Andy Ruiz Jr. and Henry Cejudo: 'No way, you know, Deontay Wilder has nothing to be sad about and nothing to complain about.

'He has put up a great fight... I just think Tyson Fury has his number.'

The trilogy fight is going ahead after a court ruled that a third fight between Wilder and Fury must occur before 15 September.

The ruling ended any chances of Fury facing Anthony Joshua in an all-British mega showdown on August 14 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Joshua is instead likely to face Oleksandr Usyk in September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn - who represents Joshua - admits the British world champion probably fears his undisputed fight with Fury will now never happen.

'AJ, in his head, probably thinks the fight will never happen. I would like to be more hopeful and I think it will happen.

'If AJ knocks out Usyk and Fury knocks out Wilder then, in four months' time, we are talking about an even bigger fight.

'One could lose or look bad but I do get the feeling if they both win then the fight is huge. I am hoping it works out for the best.'
