Elderly man suspected of Tas women assault
An 82-year-old Tasmanian man is under police guard after allegedly attacking two women aged 64 and 80.
Police were called to a home in the western town of Zeehan on Saturday morning to find the two women with multiple head and body wounds.
They were taken by ambulance to North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.
The elderly man is under police guard while receiving medical treatment at the Launceston General Hospital. He is subject to investigation.
Specialist forensic officers are at the home in Zeehan, Tasmania Police said.
