in-laws of forcing her to change her religion.</p><p>Madhu Batham married Bittu Khan, a Muslim, 10 years back. The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals and Bittu Khan, as claimed by the woman, had converted to Hinduism. The couple has three children.</p><p>Madhu, a resident of Saraswati Nagar under Jhansi Road police station in Gwalior district, has also accused police of not taking action on her complaint. She said her in-laws didn’t fear police action and therefore they ousted her and her children from home.</p><p>Talking to journalists, she said that her in-laws threatened to kill her children and also to rape her if she did not change her religion. “When I refused, they threw me out. Why should I change my religion if my husband supports my religion?” she said.</p><p>"I have accepted Hindu religion. I am with my wife. They (family members) have been threatening us. I have lodged complaints on many occasions, but no one is listening me," said Bittu Khan.</p><p>Additional superintendent of police Hitika Vasal said probe is underway following her complaint. She has not mentioned religion change in her complaint. “Prima facie, it seems to be a property dispute between her and her in-laws,” she told Free Press over
