Covid-19: 16 transgenders in Thane

Thane, Jun 19 (UNI) Sixteen transgenders were vaccinated in a special drive carried out by the Thane Municipal Corporation at its centre on Saturday.
With this drive, TMC has become the first civic body in the state to arrange vaccination for the transgenders, an official release stated here.
Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, city Mayor Naresh Mhaske and other corporators were present at the launch of the vaccination drive.
Meanwhile, Thane MP Rajan Vichare had organized a free vaccination camp in the city for the disabled and seniors.
In a related development, several housing complexes here with a tie up with private hospitals have been arranging the vaccination programme with the assistance of the city corporators or the elected representatives.
